A High-Performance Training Facility for Operational Excellence
The Energex Training Centre Redevelopment sets a strong benchmark for high-performance training environments, combining architectural clarity with functional performance. Designed in collaboration with Vabasis and delivered by Bryant QLD for Energex, the project required a façade that could balance solar control, ventilation, acoustic performance, and durability across a complex, high-use facility.

Louvreclad was engaged early by the Vabasis design team to support product selection and develop an integrated system approach. This ensured each façade element contributed to both performance and visual consistency. Caprice Series® Modular Fins establish a clean vertical expression across the building, while Sheraton Series® Aluminium Modular Blades introduce depth and rhythm to window zones, managing glare and enhancing occupant comfort. Polaris Series® Perforated Metal Screens unify service and plant areas, delivering a cohesive architectural language across the facility. A considered palette of Dulux® Duratec® finishes reinforces the project’s quality, providing long-term durability while maintaining a refined, contemporary aesthetic.

The success of the project was driven by early collaboration and technical rigour. During the concept design phase, Louvreclad worked with the Vabasis architectural team to resolve key connection principles and system interfaces before construction documentation.
Following contract award by Bryant QLD, acoustic louvres, rain-resistant louvres, modular fins, and perforated screens were coordinated with the building structure and services to reduce downstream risk. Hudson Series® 100 Acoustic Louvres control noise within the generator enclosure, while Kensington Series® Rain Resistant Louvres maintain airflow and prevent water ingress.

By resolving connection methodologies and support requirements at a conceptual level early in the design process, Louvreclad reduced construction risk and simplified site execution. Once detailed design was completed, installation progressed efficiently with clearly defined fixing details and coordinated systems. This enabled logical sequencing, minimised rework, and reduced the need for on-site problem solving.
The early design workshops translated directly into a smoother construction phase, with fewer hold points and less disruption than typically associated with complex façade packages. Trades were able to install with confidence, supported by well-documented and fully engineered solutions.

The result is a façade that performs as intended and was delivered with certainty, on time and to a high standard of finish.
