Learning Spaces Defined by Performance-Driven Design  

Brisbane Central State School introduces contemporary learning spaces designed to improve comfort, safety, and environmental performance for students and staff. 

Working alongside Towill Design Group and Badge Constructions, Louvreclad supplied façade screening and solar shading systems that support consistent performance and visual continuity across the campus. 

Barossa Series® Aluminium Batten Screens were installed across several areas, including Level 2 west elevation school screens, Level 2 east elevation screen assemblies, and door and panel assemblies across Levels 1 and 2. The system provides effective solar shading and privacy while allowing natural airflow and daylight into internal spaces. Concealed fixings and non-combustible aluminium construction deliver a clean finish and long-term durability. 

Selected finishes complement the school’s architectural materials while supporting external performance. These include Knotwood® Spotted Gum batten finishes, Dulux® Duratec® Zeus Monument Satin (90Z7307S), Dulux® Duratec® Elements Surfmist Flat, and Eternity Copper Coin Pearl feature components. 

Merlin Series® Elliptical Louvre Blades were installed across the north elevation on Levels 1 and 2, providing solar shading to multiple window screen locations. Powder-coated finishes include Dulux® Duratec® Zeus Monument Matt (90Z8189M), Dulux® Duratec® Elements Surfmist Flat (90E1330Z), and Dulux® Duratec® Copper Coin Pearl Matt (90T4350K). 

Together, the façade screening and louvre systems improve internal comfort, reduce solar heat gain, and support a durable, low-maintenance building exterior. The project demonstrates how coordinated façade systems can support modern educational environments while maintaining architectural consistency and long-term performance.
